All our water troughs are manufactured using 30MPA concrete reinforced with PMF fibre. Additionally the trough sides are 8cm thick tapering up to just over 5cm thick. The combination of PMF and the thick walls ensures a robust product that will stand the test of time.
PMF is included primarily to reinforce the trough, but has the added benefit of being 'non-conducting' making stray currents (e.g. shorting electric fences) that may deter farm animals from drinking from the trough less likely to be an issue.
All our troughs include a 25mm brass socket. Ensuring quality, sockets are sourced from a NZ manufacturer and made to MCT's specification.
MCT deliver to farms as far north as Ohakune to as far south as Lake Ferry, and most places in-between. We have two trucks for carrying troughs so no order is to big or to small. Our large truck carries a maximum of nine oval troughs (our biggest trough). Delivery costs include yard loading, all travel time and unloading at your farm using our truck's Hiab. Use this link to view our delivery costs. Please provide us with any special delivery instructions when placing your order.
We do provide the service of final trough position on farm (terrain and conditions permitting). The charge for trough placement on farm is $110.00 per hour. If no one can be at site when we deliver be sure to leave us clear delivery instructions.
If MCT can accommodate your order from yard stock that has cured we can fulfil your order within two weeks. Made to order troughs need time to cure before being moved. Given this, we generally advise three weeks. If you have an urgent requirement please don't hesitate to discuss this with us and we will do all we can to accommodate your requirement.
Each trough includes exterior wire loops for securing chains to enable easy lifting by Hiab or tractor. Our most popular trough, the 1350 oval weighs almost 1200 kg or 1.2 ton.
We will accommodate small yard pickups. However, given the rigidity of concrete we will not warranty troughs that we have not transported.
